Our 2017 Event

Operation Uplift began with our neighbors in Leavenworth, Kansas.

For the first time since 1944, the 35th Infantry Division deployed to support the United States in the Persian Gulf. Beginning in mid-2017, around 500 National Guard soldiers from Kansas and Missouri answered the call.

Our founders also heard a call - to support our neighbors-turned-heroes heading overseas.

After doing some research and connecting with the 35th ID’s leadership team, we decided on a packing event. Family, friends and coworkers pitched in to make flyers and spread the word. Donations and messages started flooding in from companies and people wanting to join.

Thanks to the leadership of the 35th ID, the support of the community, and our host sponsor Roof4All, we sent 69 care packages in our first year.

We were also honored when at the event, the ESGR presented our host sponsor, Roof4All, the ‘Above and Beyond Award'.

The real reward was seeing the pile of boxes, knowing we came together as a community to make a difference. Seeing the support come in from our soldiers is heartwarming, and we invite you to join the fun.
